The Te Anau Tennis Club was established over 45 years ago and continues to thrive as a vibrant part of the Fiordland sporting community. In recent years, the Club has entered an exciting phase of substantial growth. This transformation began in 2012 with the construction of four new Plexipave courts, replacing the old surfaces and giving Te Anau a facility that meets modern playing standards. At that time, the Club had just six active members — today, we're proud to have well over 100, including enthusiastic juniors, adult players, and a dedicated group of social members who help create a welcoming, community-focused atmosphere.
Since 2012, the Te Anau Tennis Club has also been the proud home of the Distinction Hotels Te Anau Tennis Invitational. This annual summer event is a highlight on New Zealand's tennis calendar — and is unique for its exclusive eight-player draw, which features some of the country's top male tennis talent. Over the years, the Invitational has become a must-see fixture for tennis fans, offering high-quality matches in a spectacular Fiordland setting.
With outstanding facilities, passionate coaching, and strong community support, the Te Anau Tennis Club is going from strength to strength — building on its proud history and inspiring the next generation of players.

Join NowThe Te Anau Tennis Club continues to grow strongly, with Danny now coaching a wide range of junior and adult groups. Our junior players have achieved excellent results at regional and national levels, reflecting the strength of our coaching and club culture.
This year marks the 13th Distinction Hotels Te Anau Tennis Invitational — a highlight of the summer calendar and a testament to our Club's commitment to running a high-quality event each year. Proceeds from the tournament continue to support junior coaching, helping to develop the next generation of players.
Our Senior team competes in the Northern Southland competition each Saturday, and we also enjoy a variety of social tournaments throughout the season, offering fun and competitive play for all members.
