The Te Anau Tennis Club was born over 40 years ago and is currently in a period of substantial growth. This growth started over 7 years ago when we constructed our 4 new Plexipave Courts. We had 6 members before then and now with over 100 members the Te Anau Tennis Club is going from strength to strength.
The Te Anau Tennis Club has also been the home of the Distinction Hotels Te Anau Invitational since 2012. This tournament is rather unique on NZ's tennis calendar as it only has a draw of 8 players. However, those 8 players also happen to often be the 8 best male tennis players that NZ has to offer.

Join NowThe Te Anau Tennis Club is in a period of substantial growth. We now have well over 100 members with a great spread of both Female, Male and Junior players. Our amazing Coach, Danny Baleson, is helping with this growth by consistently coaching about 90 Junior Tennis players each week. He also now has a bunch of Ladies coaching groups.
This year will see the 9th Edition of the Distinction Hotels Te Anau Tennis Invitational. With Covid disrupting a few people's plans this year, we are super excited that there is a way to continue to run this tournament and bring an event to Te Anau. It's an exciting time for tennis in Te Anau.
