Unfortunately due to injury, Macsen Sisam had to withdraw from the tournament, so our real newbie in 2020 is Anton Shepp. The 18 year old is one of the young talents in New Zealand tennis, having recently made the semifinals of the Wellington Open NZ Championships, taking out Alex Klintcharov on his way. We are excited to see how Anton will shape up against some of the most experienced heads in New Zealand tennis. Good luck Anton!

2020’s Wellington Open New Zealand Championships Singles Champion, Isaac Becroft is our seventh player on this year’s roster. After a year plying his trade at Mississippi State University in America, Isaac will be looking to make his mark in Te Anau after his seventh placing the last two years. As an up and coming young gun in NZ tennis, we are excited to see how Isaac will measure up against New Zealand’s best down south. Good luck Isaac! : : #teanautennis Distinction Hotels Group 100% NZ Owned & Operated @Distinction Luxmore Hotel

Rubin Statham could arguably be called the unofficial King of the Distinction Hotels Te Anau Tennis Invitational. Having won the tournament all four times he has been down south, he’ll be tough to beat in 2020. Rubin has been a fixture in the NZ Davis Cup Team since 2005, and currently holds the record for the number of singles victories (26) for a New Zealand player. Coming back from a hip operation in March, he won a crucial singles match against Venezuela proving himself as New Zealand’s top singles player. We look forward to seeing what Rubin will bring to the table this year. Good luck! : : #teanautennis Distinction Hotels Group 100% NZ Owned & Operated @Distinction Luxmore Hotel
